FRAMEWORK OF BODY PARAGRAPHS FOR IELTS TASK 1

Ideally, only two body paragraphs are required to elaborate the report in IELTS task 1 but at the same time, this is not mandatorily true for a candidate to restrict the number at two, they can frame more as well as per the statistics provided in the graph.
  • The length of body paragraphs is required to be uniform as this makes your task symmetrical and organized.
  • Each paragraph should constitute at least 6-7 lines, even more lines can be added.

Basically, there are THREE major trends that can be seen in this task namely:
  • INCREASING TREND
  • DECREASING TREND
  • FLUCTUATING TREND

BP-1)  It can be seen from the graph, there were different trends for men and women reading library material. The number of books read by men increased steadily between 2011 and 2012, from about 3000 to 4000. Afterwards, a dramatic rise in number can be seen where it reached to approximately 14000 in 2014. Strikingly, this was the highest noticed figure in the period.
  
BP-2)   Furthermore, women started off reading more books than men, but their numbers followed a totally different pattern wherein the count underwent a slight increase from 5000 in 2011 to near about 7000 in 2012. Interestingly, 2013 was the only year during which equal number of books were read by both men and women with the figure being 10,000. Additionally, the interest of females for reading books decreased in 2014 as the count fell down to barely 8000 books, whereas men showed more interest in this particular year.
